Evan Bates , CEO , Intrinergy, LLC will be the speaker at the IEEE Richmond Section Meeting on Thursday, 2 February 2006 at the Hilton Garden Inn at Innsbrook. Registration and social starts at 5:30 PM. Visit our website at www.ieee.org/richmond to register and for more details. Mr. Bates' presentation "Trends in Renewable Energy for Corporate Users" will address the dramatic changes in the availability of renewable energy for corporate uses seen in the last twenty-four months. Energy costs are rising and companies are under mounting pressure to adopt environmentally friendly operations. Mr. Bates, What is an Intrinergy renewable energy system?

What industries are currently using this renewable energy system? What industries have the greatest potential for savings?

Intrinergy builds owns and operates renewable energy systems. This can mean solar, wind, geothermal, or synthetic gasification. Most (90%) of our projects under development involve synthetic gas.

Intrinergy does not have any proprietary technology. We build energy manufacturing plants using established technologies.

This evening, Tuesday, 31 January 2006, President Bush outlined the need for "more reliable alternative energy sources". The IEEE Richmond Section's meeting on Thursday, 2 February 2006 will discuss "Trends In Renewable Energy For Corporate Users".

From www.whitehouse.gov. "In His State Of The Union Address, President Bush Outlined The Advanced Energy Initiative To Help Break America's Dependence On Foreign Sources Of Energy. The President has set a national goal of replacing more than 75% of our oil imports from the Middle East by 2025. With America on the verge of breakthroughs in advanced energy technologies, the best way to break the addiction to foreign oil is through new technology. Since 2001, we have spent nearly $10 billion to develop cleaner, cheaper, and more reliable alternative energy sources. Tonight, the President announced the Advanced Energy Initiative, which provides for a 22% increase in clean-energy research at the Department of Energy (DOE). The Initiative will accelerate our breakthroughs in two vital areas; how we power our homes and businesses; and how we power our automobiles."

The speaker at the IEEE Richmond Section Meeting tonight was Matthew Markee from Intrinergy LLC. Intrinergy is a "renewable energy project developer" according to Matthew. Matthew lives in Richmond, VA with his wife and three children. He graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also has an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business. Along the way, Matthew has worked for Trane and Capital One. Matthew and his partners formed Intrinergy in 2004. They have three projects underway and the first project should go on line in June 2006.
